It’s that time of year when the province’s elementary schools get their own report card.

The new Fraser Institute elementary school report card released Sunday shows parents how their local schools stack up academically, even if many in the education establishment disapprove of standardized testing in general, let alone using the data to allow school comparisons.

Peter Cowley, senior fellow with the Fraser Institute, said the popular report gives parents highly useful information about how students in any one elementary school performed on the EQAO tests for math, reading and writing.
