New Dates Scheduled; Agreement on Scope Reached

The OECTA Provincial Bargaining Team (PBT) has reached an agreement through the mediation process with representatives of the Government of Ontario (Crown) and the Ontario Catholic School Trustees’ Association (OCSTA) on a majority of the items to be captured within the “scope” of negotiations. The scope, as noted in previous updates, determines the matters that will be addressed at the central bargaining table, and which will be addressed in local
bargaining.

Respectful and productive talks through the mediation process enabled all parties to come to an agreement
on most of the items, expeditiously. The few remaining items will continue to move forward for a ruling by
the Ontario Labour Relations Board (OLRB), and provincial bargaining will resume in the meantime.
With this agreement in place, new tentative dates have been set for November 15, 16, 29, and 30.

Your Association will continue to provide you with relevant information and updates on the status of
negotiations as the process unfolds.
