The Plan
The OECTA Benefits Plan was developed based on the following principles:
- Consistency and equity of coverage for all eligible members and their families, regardless of where they live or by which board they are employed
- Ease of transferability, with no change to benefits plan coverage if members move to a different Catholic school board
- A more inclusive plan that now captures occasional members who were previously unable to access benefits
- Greater privacy, as school boards no longer have access to members’ person information
Claims
Benefits are administered by OTIP (Ontario Teachers Insurance Plan), through the OECTA ELHT (Employee Life and Health Trust).
