The group developed a “co-payment” model that would see parents pay more than $3,000 per student to keep the program going, said Francine Salinitri, who is a professor at Wayne State University in Detroit. Salinitri has one child in the Grade 11 IB program at Riverside Secondary School and another in the Grade 9 pre-IB program that is being eliminated next year.
