New Provincial Bargaining Dates
Since the last Provincial Bargaining Update, the OECTA Provincial Bargaining Team (PBT) has met four times with representatives of the Government of Ontario and the bargaining team representing all Catholic school boards, to continue negotiations for the renewal of the central terms of our collective agreement.
The talks have been respectful and modest progress has been made in certain areas. In an effort to continue working toward realizing a fair collective agreement, the following bargaining dates have been confirmed:
- June 16, 26, 27
- July 18, 19
- August 15, 16
- August 2
Many outstanding issues do remain, including the matters before the Ontario Labour Relations Board
(OLRB) related to the “scope” of central bargaining and the “bad faith bargaining” complaint filed by the
Association.
It is important that Catholic teachers take time this summer to rest and rejuvenate after what has been yet
another challenging school year. That being said, the Association encourages you to continue checking your
personal email address for important bargaining updates.
