WATERLOO REGION — Teacher unions blasted the Ford government over bigger classes it will impose to reduce teaching jobs and save money.
“This is all about learning conditions, and this is going to make things much worse for students,” said Patrick Etmanski, local president of the Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association.
“Larger class sizes mean less support for individual students and will disproportionately impact students with special needs,” said Greg Weiler, local president of the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario.
